Labels

Every bottle is a
commissioned work.

We do not design our own labels. Each bottle carries an original work from an artist native to the tea region — ink-and-wash from Alishan, silkscreen from Dihua Street, and letterpress, woodblock, and calligraphy from the other origins we work with. Each label is a commissioned piece — one painting, one bottle line, signed by the artist who made it.

Alex Kuo · 郭正宏

Taipei, TaiwanUrban sketching

A graduate of Tung Fang Design Institute (Commercial Art) and Shih Hsin University (Communications Management), he is a self-styled "hand-drawn chronicler of everyday life" and the first artist to teach urban sketching on the streets of Taipei.

In 2016, he became the first Taiwanese artist invited to Italy's MATITE IN VIAGGIO international sketching exhibition. He leads an annual "Travel Sketching Group" across Europe, Asia, and Australia, and has lectured, taught, and exhibited in France, Italy, and Australia, capturing the scenery and culture of his journeys through line and color.

Passionate about Taiwan's urban landscapes, he sketches the alleys and lanes of cities across the island. His published books include Sketches Along Provincial Highway No. 2, Sketches of Tainan, and Sketches of Shilin's Lanes and Alleys — sharing the beauty of Taiwan with both local audiences and international travelers.

Alex painted the label for our founding release, Alishan Cloud — the hand-drawn illustration on the front of the bottle.

How a label is made
I.

The tea arrives.

The leaf reaches the distillery. Jeffrey blends. A rough date for the release is set.

II.

The artist is briefed.

One paragraph, one tasting sample, one date. No visual direction. What comes back, comes back.

III.

The print is made.

The original is photographed and printed on uncoated stock. Every label is hand-finished on the day it ships — never digitally tweaked, never reissued for stock control.
